1. Who may use the marketplace
Members must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a legal agreement. Accounts and listings must use truthful information. An account may not be transferred or used to impersonate someone else.
2. Teton Marketplace is a classifieds service
At the founding launch, Teton Marketplace does not take payment, hold funds, guarantee goods or services, or become a party to agreements between members. Buyers and sellers are responsible for inspection, payment, delivery, taxes, permits, licenses, insurance, and legal compliance.
3. Listings and member conduct
Listings must be accurate, useful, lawful, and supported by original photos when photos are relevant. Bait pricing, duplicate spam, fake urgency, harassment, discrimination, stolen property, and prohibited items are not allowed.
4. Review and verification
Teton Marketplace may review accounts, listings, file hashes, available image metadata, and reports. Badges describe checks performed; they are not warranties, background checks, or guarantees that a person or item is safe. Metadata may be missing or altered and is never treated as proof by itself.
5. Listing concierge and content permission
A seller may ask the listing concierge to prepare a draft from facts, original photos, and an existing-listing link the seller supplies. By submitting a concierge request, the seller confirms that they own or are authorized to offer the item or service and have the right to use the supplied content. The seller grants Teton Marketplace a nonexclusive, revocable, 60-day license to copy, edit, format, store, and display that content solely for the requested listing. Teton Marketplace does not automatically scrape the linked source. Concierge drafts remain private until the seller approves them.
6. Moderation
Teton Marketplace may reject, limit, remove, or preserve evidence from listings and accounts that create legal, safety, fraud, or community risk. Serious threats or suspected crimes may be referred to the appropriate authorities.
7. Member responsibility
Members use the service at their own risk. Inspect before paying, use appropriate safe meeting practices, verify licenses for regulated work, and do not send deposits, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or security codes under pressure.
8. Housing and caretaker listings
Members offering a room, rental, shared home, or live-in caretaker arrangement must have authority to offer it and must clearly state the complete price or compensation, deposits, duties, hours, occupancy terms, and material rules. All housing, employment, habitability, privacy, and anti-discrimination laws apply. Teton Marketplace does not inspect properties, screen tenants or roommates, verify employers, or determine whether an arrangement creates a tenancy or employment relationship.
9. Transportation and delivery listings
Teton Marketplace provides classified listings and member messaging. It does not dispatch, operate, control, employ, background-check, or insure transportation or delivery providers, and it does not guarantee that a request will be accepted or completed by any particular time. Members contract directly with one another.
Providers may advertise only services and routes for which they hold every required driver license, vehicle registration, business license, permit, operating authority, and insurance policy or endorsement. Coverage must apply to compensated passenger transportation or delivery in every jurisdiction served. Providers are responsible for lawful pricing, taxes, vehicle condition, road and weather restrictions, nondiscrimination, accessibility, and all local, state, federal, airport, and park requirements.
